Three people were shot dead during an alleged police-involved shooting in Tunapuna yesterday morning.
According to reports, at about 5 am, a group of men who identified themselves as police officers entered the home of a popular social media personality “Dust Boss” at Monte Grande.
The victim was on an Instagram Live video and captured the last moments of his life. That video went viral on social media.
Two of the victims were identified only by their aliases “Dust Boss” and “Silence” up to late yesterday. The third victim, a woman, was said to be the girlfriend of one of the men.
Police said the three were shot after they allegedly opened fire on the officers when they went to the house.
In the video “Dust Boss” was heard telling the officers that he was only in his boxer shorts and on an Instagram Live and that he had no gun and his hands were up.
Upon entering the building, the officers were heard telling him to put his hands in the air. “Dust Boss” said his hands were in the air and insisted that he had no gun.
There were screams and “Dust Boss” was heard begging for his life. The live video then ended.
Officers said the three were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where they were all pronounced dead.
