A Coast Guard officer appeared before a Port-of- Spain Master of the Court yesterday, charged with shooting. He was granted $175,000 bail.
Marlon Wiley, of Pinto Road, Arima, was formally charged with wo counts of shooting with intent and one count of discharging a firearm within 40 yards of a public place on Tuesday.
He appeared virtually before Master Sarah De Silva at the North Court B, where he was granted bail with surety for $175,000 to cover all charges.
According to police, the incident allegedly occurred on Sunday near Alberto Street and Ariapita Avenue, Woodbrook.
It was alleged that a man dressed in Muslim garb opened fire, without warning, on a car driven by a woman. A female passenger was also in the vehicle.
The matter was adjourned to October 21.
