Four people were charged, and 30 fixed penalty notices were issued during a Traffic Enforcement exercise in the Tobago Division on Monday.
The TTPS said the Tobago Division, Traffic and Highway Patrol Branch conducted a Traffic and Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Enforcement exercise between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., in the vicinity of an event held at Pigeon Point.
During the exercise, officers tested drivers using the breathalyser, and four men, when tested, recorded breath alcohol levels which exceeded the legally prescribed limit.
The four men, from Moriah, Les Coteaux and Mt. Thomas in Tobago, and Morvant, Trinidad, were charged with the offence.
The TTPS said additionally, 30 fixed penalty notices were also issued for various infractions, including Breach of Traffic Signs, Defective Tyres, Unauthorised Lights and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr. Supt. Jackman and Supt. Kirk, and supervised by Sgt Batson W/Cpl Marcelle and Cpl Haven.
