The political party casually know as One Voice has a new name.
It is now ‘One Tobago Voice.’
Founding member of the party, leader of the Platform of Truth, Hochoy Charles made this announcement at the membership meeting held at Rovanel Resort and Conference Center in Crown Point on Sunday, December 1.
Other founding members, Forwards Christlyn Moore, head of the Tobago Forwards and Tobago Organization of the People Ashworth Jack, sat at the head table as the party’s members ratified the constitution.
The 60 persons who registered for the meeting sat through a discussion evaluating every aspect of the constitution.
The symbol which was already approved by the Election and Boundaries Commission (EBC), did not sit well with some of the youth members.
The symbol is a tablet inscribed with a loaf of bread.
Kevon McKenna, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the TF strongly objected to the use of the approved symbol.
However, he was overruled by most of the members.
Speaking after the constitution was approved, Moore said people should be careful of the people who lead the party, as Tobago manages over $7 billion annually.
Addressing the state of Tobago’s tourism, she waded into Tourism Secretary Nadine Stewart-Phillips.
“She is pretty, pretty useless,” Moore said.
She said the Secretary has not addressed many issues facing the tourism industry.
“The first thing that has to go is the $50 change fee,” she said.
Moore said she wasn’t afraid to deal with any issues facing Tobago.
“I do sleep on my leader eyelash...so I can blink...and I can talk freely, “ she said.
“Choose your leaders wisely!” Moore said.
