Quick response by police officers attached to the Sangre Grande Police Station led to the recovery of a vehicle and the arrest of a Special Reserve Constable in Port-of-Spain Monday.
Police reported around 12:45 pm on Monday, June 20, the victim Aeil Quamina, 26, of Quash Trace Extension, Paharry Village, Sangre Grande drove to Health Corner Pharmacy located on the Toco Road, Sangre Grande in his blue-coloured Toyota 101 Corolla and left the vehicle opened with the engine running and ignition keys in it.
When Quamina exited the establishment approximately five minutes later his vehicle, valued at $180,000, was missing.
He made a report at the Sangre Grande Police Station.
The vehicle was later found in Port-of-Spain with an occupant who was reported to be an SRP Constable who is now under arrest.
