Quick re­sponse by po­lice of­fi­cers at­tached to the San­gre Grande Po­lice Sta­tion led to the re­cov­ery of a ve­hi­cle and the ar­rest of a Spe­cial Re­serve Con­sta­ble in Port-of-Spain Mon­day.

Po­lice re­port­ed around 12:45 pm on Mon­day, June 20, the vic­tim Aeil Quam­i­na, 26, of Quash Trace Ex­ten­sion, Pa­har­ry Vil­lage, San­gre Grande drove to Health Cor­ner Phar­ma­cy lo­cat­ed on the To­co Road, San­gre Grande in his blue-coloured Toy­ota 101 Corol­la and left the ve­hi­cle opened with the en­gine run­ning and ig­ni­tion keys in it.

When Quam­i­na ex­it­ed the es­tab­lish­ment ap­prox­i­mate­ly five min­utes lat­er his ve­hi­cle, val­ued at $180,000, was miss­ing.

He made a re­port at the San­gre Grande Po­lice Sta­tion.

The ve­hi­cle was lat­er found in Port-of-Spain with an oc­cu­pant who was re­port­ed to be an SRP Con­sta­ble who is now un­der ar­rest.

PC Bud­hooram of the San­gre Grande CID is con­duct­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
