The man who was gunned down in St James on Monday has been identified as 25-year-old Andre Lumsden.
According to a police report, at about 6 pm on Monday 30 March 2020, Andre Lumsden was standing along a track off Dibe, Long Circular Road, when he was ambushed by gunmen who opened fire on him. The gunmen subsequently escaped.
Lumsden, who was shot multiple times in the head and upper body, died on the scene.
Police believe that Lumsden’s murder is connected to the murder of 55-year-old Joseph Daniel, who was killed in the same area last Friday March 27th.
In that incident, reports are that at about 12:30 pm, Joseph Daniel was at Dibe, Long Circular Road, when he was approached by a gunman who opened fire on him before running off.
Daniel was taken to the St James Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
He had been shot in the right arm, chest and upper stomach.
Police said he was a known affiliate of the Jamaat-al-Muslimeen.
Investigations continue.
