A 44-year-old man from Toco was granted $70,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Sarah De Silva at the Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of Breach of Protection Order. He is expected to reappear in court on January 19th.
As part of the bail conditions, the accused cannot communicate unless it concerns the welfare of their child. He must also report once per week to a police station in the Eastern district.
According to a police report, on September 12th at around 3.15 pm a woman was at her home, when her ex-husband arrived to drop off their daughter.
Whilst there he allegedly used threatening language, causing the woman to fear for her life. Also on the September, the woman was at her home when her exhusband again allegedly used threatening language, causing her to fear for her life. Officers of the Toco Special Victims Department conducted an investigation into the matter.
As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged. Charges were laid by WPC Farrier. The exercise was investigated by Superintendent Claire GuyAlleyne, W/ASP Bridgelal, and W/Inspector Bacchus.
