A Roving Road Block was conducted in the Northern and North Eastern Division on Friday, resulting in the arrest of two persons and the seizure of a firearm, ammunition and 260 grams of cocaine.
A 24-year old and a 22-year old man, were arrested during a road block conducted by Snr Sup Montrichard and Supt Carty in the Santa Cruz district.
According to reports, officers received information that occupants driving a white wagon were in possession of illegal firearms and dangerous drugs in the Aranguez area. Officers proceeded to Garden Road Aranguez, where they conducted a road block.
During the road block, officers spotted a vehicle fitting the description and intercepted it. The vehicle was searched by the officers and a transparent plastic bag containing 260 grams of cocaine with an estimated value of $362,419.00 was found.
The officers then acted on further information received and proceeded to Sunshine Street, Carapo, where they conducted a systematic and extensive search near an open lot of land; where they spotted a black plastic bag containing one Tanfoglio Pistol and five rounds of 9mm ammunition hidden near a coconut tree. Wpc Garcia took possession of the items and is continuing enquiries.
