The United National Congress (UNC) will decide on its leadership on December 6, 2020.
UNC leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar announced the date for the party's election as she closed her speech during the UNC Virtual Report tonight.
Nomination Day for the election will take place on November 15.
Earlier in her speech, the Opposition Leader revealed that via a Freedom of Information Act request she learnt that Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi and Minister of National Security Stuart Young had to be recused 94 times from Cabinet discussions.
She said Al-Rawi had to be recused 37 times while Young had to recused 57 times due to matters of conflict of interest.
Al-Rawi, she said, had to leave Cabinet discussions several times due to lease or rental agreement involving himself or a family member.
The Opposition Leader said of those occasions the public was only aware of two properties, One Alexandra Place and Three Alexandra Place, and called on the Attorney General to explain the remaining recusals.
Persad-Bissessar however said that Young's recusals, were related to $22.6 billion in government transactions, as his father Richard acted as a broker, a stakeholder or a committee member on a state board in 30 matters, while his brother Angus Young's involvement as CEO of NCB Global finance was connected to six other discussions.
The Opposition Leader also slammed the adjustment of the COVID-19 restrictions by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley stating he had only offered the population crumbs by opening beaches, places of worship, gyms and cinemas with specific restrictions.
