The hero of the opening day of the 2020 Racing Season, Harold Chadee will attempt to continue his winning ways on Saturday, when the Arima Race Club (ARC) host a seven-race card programme at Santa Rosa Park in Arima, from 1:30 pm.
Chadee attacks the feature on Day 2 of the new season with three runners in the Modified Benchmark Handicap for Three-Year-Olds and Over Horses Rated 80-60 going over a distance of 1,750 metres.
He will saddle Prince of Bellevue, Mafia Man and Risk To Riches. Prince of Bellevue was an impressive winner on New Year's Day and with 52 kilos and Kimal Santo must have an outstanding chance. Top-weighted American Dillon from the Harriram Gobin barn has been allotted 57 kilos and will be ridden by Ronald Ali for Shivam Maharaj.
Former champion trainer Glenn Mendez send out Streaking Far for this event. This horse will be ridden by Carlos Rojas and must be respected. However, the horse which will have the headlines is the aptly, named Making Headlines. This horse has been campaigning with the best and must have an outstanding chance of returning to winning way with Rico Hernandez in the saddle and claiming one kilo from his impost of 56 kilos.
Making Headlines will take all the stopping for champion trainer John O'Brien and one must remember that early last season he rattled up a hat-trick of victories. He could well be up to this once again.
When entries were taken yesterday, 68 horses registered for the day's programme.
