Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) Director of Cricket, Venky Mysore, said he's delighted to welcome all-rounder Kieron Pollard back home after confirming that the T20 international star will play for the TKR in the 2019 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The news was first reported by Guardian Media Sports on Monday.
Mysore released a statement on Pollard's homecoming, saying, "We are delighted to welcome Pollard back home and it's great to continue our efforts to bring as many Trini boys home as possible. I can’t wait for the reaction of the fans when Pollard takes the field at our opening game on 4 September."
The right-handed powerful hitter will enter a winning TKR team, with the defending champions holding three championship titles in the CPL. He played for the Barbados Tridents between 2013 and 2017 and for the St Lucia Stars in 2018. This will be the first time Pollard will be playing for TKR in his CPL career.
The 2019 CPL will be played between 4 September to 12 October. The draft will take place 22 May in London where the rest of the TKR team will be unveiled.
