"Too much go­ing on for me to be in my bed, Ah go sleep when ah dead." These are some of the lyrics to Dil-e-Nadan's lat­est so­ca re­lease, Cyah Sleep, which is al­ready re­ceiv­ing tremen­dous air­play. Dil-e-Nadan front­man, Ray­mond Ram­nar­ine, said the song was writ­ten by Ker­win Dubois, who has penned songs for oth­er so­ca acts, in­clud­ing Machel Mon­tano. Ram­nar­ine said: "I met Ker­win two years ago at Mi­a­mi Car­ni­val and he said, 'I have to write a song for you'.

"When the song was writ­ten, we were on tour at the time, so the vo­cals were done in Eu­rope and Mi­a­mi and the fin­ish­ing touch­es were com­plet­ed when we came home." Ram­nar­ine said he made the de­ci­sion to go the groovy so­ca route in­stead of the pow­er so­ca be­cause he be­lieves groovy songs last well af­ter Car­ni­val. The group per­formed Cyah Sleep at the re­cent So­ka in Mo­ka fete and the re­sponse was amaz­ing.

Ram­nar­ine said, "It was the first time we played there and the crowd's re­ac­tion to the song was awe­some. To see peo­ple like the Pres­i­dent and his wife sway­ing to your mu­sic is an in­de­scrib­able feel­ing." Dil-e-Nadan has al­so re­leased their chut­ney of­fer­ing for the year, ti­tled Doh Blame Me. Ram­nar­ine said, "We will not be en­ter­ing the Chut­ney So­ca Monarch this year be­cause the band is solid­ly booked in both the chut­ney and so­ca are­nas and al­so we don't re­al­ly like too many of these com­pe­ti­tions.
