Election date puts paid to WI cricket

Prime Minister Patrick Manning has once more demonstrated his government's disregard for sport. He has called the general election for May 24 when the T20 World Cup starts on April 30, and more so when the West Indies is scheduled to play South Africa on May 19 and 20 in T20 matches, and May 23 and 25 in ODI matches.

The Prime Minister has surely robbed us of the opportunity to see these matches as they most likely will have to be moved to another territory due to the elections. With this blatant disregard for cricket by not bidding for T20 games, as well as the insensitive election date, is the state of WI cricket any surprise?
