Joel Garner, 18-year-old Queen's Park Cricket Club fast bowler will lead his team's bowling attack at the 24th annual Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools Tournament in Barbados. The series has been scheduled for July 4 to 23 and will also attract two other teams for T&T, including 2001 champions Presentation College, Chaguanas and St Mary's College of Port-of-Spain.
Also included in the "Parkites" team is Savion Lara, cousin of batting genius Brian Lara. This is Queen's Park ninth time at the well-organised tournament. This year teams from South Africa, Australia, Canada , England are taking part, as well as other Caribbean schools. T&T Under-15 all-rounder Kamil Pooran will lead the challenge of the "Pres" outfit, along with the Khan cousins–Aleem, Ameer, Arshad, Athir.
Long-serving administrator Lalman Kowlessar will again manage the "Pres" team who has participated in all tournaments since its inception 24-years ago. A new champion will be crowned in 2010 as last year's winners T&T Under-17 team will not take part in the series.
