Yan­nic Car­ri­ah and Evin Lewis warmed up for the up­com­ing Re­gion­al Su­per50 crick­et se­ries with ag­gres­sive half cen­turies in the first na­tion­al tri­al match for the T&T Red Force at the Queen's Park Oval yesyes­ter­day.

Play­ing for Mar­lon Richards' team, Car­ri­ah scored 99 not out, while Lewis slammed 80, as they made lit­tle work of the small tar­get set by Yan­nic Ot­t­ley's team. Ot­t­ley's team bat­ted first and scored 147 all out in 42.5 overs, af­ter win­ning the toss. the on­ly bats­men to show fight were Nicholas Alex­is with 56 and Kjorn Ot­t­ley with 43. Alex­is the tall open­er faced 76 balls, hit­ting four fours and two six­es. Ot­t­ley struck three fours in his 77-ball knock. The pick of the bowlers for Richards' XI were spin­ners Ricky Jaipaul 3/15 and Im­ran Khan 3/19, while Kevon Coop­er nabbed 2/7.

Richards' team lost Je­re­my Solozano cheap­ly but Lewis and Car­ri­ah took the score to 119 be­fore Lewis left. The man­age­ment of the Red Force al­lowed Richards' team to bat out their overs, de­spite eas­i­ly pass­ing the win­ning tar­get. When play was called Car­ri­ah was left un­beat­en on 99 and Akeal Ho­sein 34.
