Motorists travelling along the Beetham Highway, entering and leaving Port-of-Spain, are being urged to drive with extreme caution due to poor visibility as thick smoke from a bush fire blanketed the area.
Fire officers from the Wrightson Road Fire Station are on the scene attempting to extinguish the blaze, which ignited less than one hour ago.
Some motorists were seen slowing down, almost to a complete halt.
Police were also on the scene to ensure the safety of motorists.
