Two men were ar­rest­ed af­ter po­lice in­ter­cept­ed a car at Pa­lo Seco and seized sev­en au­to­mat­ic and se­mi-au­to­mat­ic firearms along with sev­er­al rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

Off­fi­cers of the South West­ern Di­vi­sion made the re­cov­ery when they stopped a green Nis­san B-14 along the SS Erin Road near the Pa­lo Seco Sec­ondary School.

The car was be­ing dri­ven by a 29 year old, farmer, of Loren­sotte North Trace, Ran­cho Que­ma­do with a 43 year old pas­sen­ger from Are­na Vil­lage, Erin.

The ex­er­cise was co-or­di­nat­ed by W/Snr. Supt. Pat­sy Joseph, Supt. Pal­loo and In­sp. Pa­ri­man and su­per­vised by Sgt. Joachim with as­sis­tance from PC Ram­dath and oth­er per­son­nel of the Task Force South West­ern Di­vi­sion.

The sus­pects were tak­en to the Cap de Ville Po­lice Post where charges of pos­ses­sion of firearms and am­mu­ni­tion were laid against them by PC Ram­dath. They were ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore a Point Fortin Mag­is­trate Court to­day.

Ac­cord­ing to a state­ment from the Po­lice Ser­vice the fol­low­ing was found in the car:

1) One UZI Sub-ma­chine gun with 2 mag­a­zines

2) One 2-45 Sub-ma­chine gun se­r­i­al with 2 mag­a­zines

3) One Sig SP 2009 9mm pis­tol with 1 mag­a­zine

4) One IMI 9mm pis­tol with 1 mag­a­zine

5) One Short Venezuela shot­gun

6) One long shot­gun

7) One Moss­berg 12 guage Shot­gun

8) Twen­ty-three (23) rounds 9mm am­mu­ni­tion.
