I was raised with prop­er val­ues and morals, and there­fore, I think it is the ho­n­ourable thing to do by putting pen to pa­per to con­grat­u­late the Min­is­ter of Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty for im­ple­ment­ing the Rapid Re­sponse Unit.They are lit­er­al­ly every­where. I now feel a bet­ter sense of se­cu­ri­ty on the na­tion's roads and es­pe­cial­ly on the high­ways be­cause the re­flec­tion of the blue lights is al­ways a short dis­tance away.

On Sun­day Feb­ru­ary 2, the RRU's bold yel­low and blue colours were seen on two po­lice ve­hi­cles parked in the vicin­i­ty of Courts on the C/R High­way, El So­cor­ro, as­sist­ing a cou­ple who seemed to be hav­ing car trou­ble.It is ac­tions such as these that is nec­es­sary and fur­ther en­dors­es that there are still mem­bers of the po­lice ser­vice who gen­uine­ly care about cit­i­zens.

I have spo­ken to sev­er­al friends who share sim­i­lar views and are prais­ing the ef­forts of the good­ly Min­is­ter. We are hop­ing, how­ev­er, that the qual­i­ty of the RRU does not de­te­ri­o­rate over time. We hope that they re­main as vig­i­lant and vis­i­ble as they are at present.Al­though there are those who be­lieve the blue flash­ing lights do not dis­suade any­one from per­form­ing crim­i­nal ac­tiv­i­ty, I beg to dif­fer. In most so­ci­eties any­thing that can act as a de­ter­rent is worth try­ing for the safe­ty and se­cu­ri­ty of the cit­i­zens.

So hats off to Min­is­ter Gary Grif­fith and his new­ly reim­ple­ment­ed RRU for re­as­sur­ing us that work is be­ing done to make this coun­try a safer place for all.
