Wendy 2 to debut in Zanzibar

Di­rec­tor Sean Hodgkin­son's A Sto­ry About Wendy 2, the se­quel to 2012's "dram­e­dy" A Sto­ry About Wendy, star­ring Hei­di Wal­cott, be­gins its in­ter­na­tion­al roll out with a world pre­miere at the pres­ti­gious Zanz­ibar In­ter­na­tion­al Film Fes­ti­val (ZIFF).

A re­lease from Quirky Films, the pro­duc­ers of the film, said the fes­ti­val will be held in Stone Town, Zanz­ibar from June 14 to June 22.

ZIFF, cur­rent­ly in its 17th year, is the largest film fes­ti­val in east­ern Africa and cel­e­brates es­tab­lished and bud­ding film­mak­ers from across the globe.

A to­tal of 79 films were se­lect­ed for this year's fes­ti­val and A Sto­ry About Wendy 2 is one of the 23 fea­ture films to be screened.

A Sto­ry About Wendy 2 fol­lows the jour­ney of Wendy Phillips as she starts her first day of work at Quirky TV, along­side tele­vi­sion per­son­al­i­ty Si­mone Davies (Cather­ine Em­manuel).

Orig­i­nal cast mem­bers Ayan­na Cezanne, Karisse Mon­tano and Mar­cia Henville re­turn for the se­quel and are joined by ac­tors Garth Voisin, Car­o­line Tay­lor, Brett Ben­gochea, Hal­cian Pierre and Gi­na Par­ris.

A Sto­ry About Wendy 2 was pro­duced by Quirky Films in as­so­ci­a­tion with Au­di, NGC, Tri­ni Fried Chick­en, NL­CB, Fran­co Trad­ing, Crix, the Min­istry of the Arts and Mul­ti­cul­tur­al­ism and the T&T Film Com­pa­ny.
