Readymix (West In­dies) Lim­it­ed (RML) has re­ceived six new con­crete mix­ers, and with an ad­di­tion­al six ex­pect­ed with­in the next two months, the com­pa­ny's fleet will move to 40.This de­vel­op­ment has brought high­er vol­umes of con­crete pro­duc­tion as an ad­di­tion­al 2000 cu­bic me­tres per month can now be achieved.En­dors­ing the com­pa­ny's new pur­chase is RML's Mar­ket­ing Man­ag­er, Resh­ma Gool­jar-Singh who hails the new ve­hi­cles as very sig­nif­i­cant to the com­pa­ny's over­all op­er­a­tions.

Gool­jar-Singh ex­plained that the pur­chase of the new mix­ers is part of the com­pa­ny's dri­ve to im­prove cus­tomer sat­is­fac­tion. She said RML's cus­tomers will ben­e­fit from fur­ther im­proved de­liv­ery times as well as the en­tire mar­ket can en­joy the avail­abil­i­ty of greater con­crete vol­umes.

"Based on our 2014 sales and bud­get­ed trend of sales, it was no­ticed that the com­pa­ny need­ed to ex­pand its present de­liv­ery ca­pac­i­ty. It was al­so ob­served that some of our ex­ist­ing con­crete mix­ers were ag­ing. It is for this rea­son, that we felt it nec­es­sary to go for­ward with these ac­qui­si­tions," she said.

The mo­bile 'mix­ers', which sport the graph­i­cal de­signs of Qual­i­ty Signs and Graph­ics So­lu­tions Lim­it­ed, were pur­chased via the com­pa­ny's long stand­ing con­trac­tor, Sel­wyn Chan­dler of Pro Pump Lim­it­ed, a com­pa­ny, which sup­plied RML with con­crete mix­ers and con­crete pumps in 2000 and 1984 re­spec­tive­ly.Chan­dler has as­sured that the con­crete mix­ers, with main fea­tures that in­clude an in­creased drum size and en­hanced mix­ing ca­pa­bil­i­ties, are of an in­ter­na­tion­al­ly-recog­nised stan­dard.

Last year, RML ac­quired a state-of-the-art sand and grav­el wash plant, de­signed to im­prove pro­duc­tion by not on­ly thor­ough­ly clean­ing, but sift­ing ag­gre­gate in­to the req­ui­site sizes.The pow­er­ful ma­chine op­er­ates at a pro­duc­tion ca­pac­i­ty of 200 tonnes per hour and is now com­ple­ment­ed by the ad­di­tion­al con­crete mix­ers in en­sur­ing even more ef­fi­cient de­liv­ery of pre­mi­um con­crete to the lo­cal mar­ket.
