Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani young woman who is an activist for rights of all girls to an education and a 2013 Nobel Peace Prize nominee, visited Tobago enjoyed lunch at Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort with a group of 26 people including her family, delegates from The University of T&T, Eason Jordan, director of operations and communications of the Malala Fund, and Megan Smith, vice president of Google X.

"We are honoured to have Malala Yousafzai at Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort today. "We hope she enjoys the beauty of our country as she visits key tourism spots and shares her experiences of the destination on her global travels," Sarme added.

The group visited Buccoo Reef where Malala and her family–including parents Tor Pekai and Ziauddin Yousafzai, and two brothers, Apal Khan Yousafzai and Khushal Khan Yousafzai–enjoyed a sea bath for the first time.
