Art Con­nect is a ground­break­ing fea­ture doc­u­men­tary that en­gages young peo­ple from Suc­cess Laven­tille.

Pro­duced by Evoke Stu­dios and di­rect­ed by Span­ish di­rec­tor Miquel Galofre, this film ob­serves the par­tic­i­pants of an ex­pres­sive arts pro­gramme that in­cor­po­rates mu­sic, dance, po­et­ry, and paint­ing as a means of pos­i­tive trans­for­ma­tion.

A re­lease from the pro­duc­ers said the film's re­lease is time­ly. This pro­duc­tion was cre­at­ed in the re­cent year and it ad­dress­es per­ti­nent so­cio-eco­nom­ic con­cerns faced by many young peo­ple; not on­ly in the lo­ca­tion spec­i­fied, but through­out the na­tion in com­mu­ni­ties that are of­ten stig­ma­tised or chal­lenged with poor liv­ing con­di­tions.

These in­spir­ing young peo­ple were giv­en ac­cess to Go Pro cam­eras and were en­cour­aged to record their dai­ly ex­pe­ri­ences. They doc­u­ment­ed their in­ter­ests, their ac­tiv­i­ties at home, at school, and dur­ing recre­ation. Through this hon­est lens, said the re­lease, we wit­ness their hopes, fears and imag­i­na­tion first hand, and we in­stant­ly con­nect with them.

Miquel Galofre is an award-win­ning di­rec­tor from Barcelona, and is known for the films Why Do Ja­maicans Run So Fast?, Hit Me With Mu­sic and Songs of Re­demp­tion.

Char­lotte Elias is ex­ec­u­tive pro­duc­er of the film.
