Leslie St Auburn Reifer will con­tin­ue a fam­i­ly tra­di­tion when he stands in his first Caribbean T20 match to­day.

The 23-year-old from Bar­ba­dos is among the list of um­pires for the tour­na­ment and will have his first match when Com­bined Cam­pus­es and Col­leges play against home team T&T at Queen's Park Oval at 8 pm (7 pm Ja­maica Time).

"As one of the youngest um­pires in the Caribbean, it is a re­al ho­n­our to be part of the group to of­fi­ci­ate in the Caribbean T20. "I come from what peo­ple call a 'crick­et fam­i­ly'. Every­one in the fam­i­ly played crick­et or has been in­volved in the game so I was around (crick­et) from a very ear­ly age," Reifer told WICB Me­dia.

"It's a spe­cial feel­ing for me to join oth­er mem­bers of my fam­i­ly who have par­tic­i­pat­ed in crick­et at this lev­el. My fa­ther, my un­cles and my cousins, have all done it as play­ers and now I have been giv­en the op­por­tu­ni­ty as an um­pire."
