De­fend­ing cham­pi­on UTT led by Daystar Swift record­ed a fa­mous 41-38 win over De­fence Force as ac­tion con­tin­ued in the Courts All Sec­tors Net­ball League, on Sat­ur­day.

Swift scored 19 goals from 24 at­tempts while Janelle Bark­er and Jil­lisa Al­lan sup­port­ed with 10 and 12 goals, re­spec­tive­ly.

The uni­ver­si­ty did well ini­tial­ly to con­tain the at­tack of Army, with leads 15-8 and 22-17 at the end of the first two pe­ri­ods. UTT con­tin­ued to dom­i­nate up un­til the end of the third quar­ter, when it led 33-24, be­fore De­fence Force had its best spell of the match. De­fence Force man­aged to cut the deficit from nine goals to three but in the end, a de­fi­ant UTT held on for the big win.

De­fence Force's na­tion­al goal-at­tack Anas­ta­sia Wil­son, con­tin­ued to im­press with 30 goals, from 43 at­tempts, just four goals shy of her tal­ly in the pre­vi­ous match.

In the oth­er Pre­mier Di­vi­sion match on the day, Fire, through the ef­fort by an un­stop­pable Afe­sha Noel, se­cured a 51-47 vic­to­ry over Po­lice. Noel scored an as­tound­ing 44 goals in a good come-from-be­hind ef­fort for Fire.
