Entrepreneur Amer Haidar, who recently announced plans to construct a multi-million dollar office building in St Clair, said T&T is a good place to invest. He believes there is a great deal of potential for investors of all kinds in this country.
Haidar, along with Planning and Sustainable Development Minister Dr Bhoendradatt Tewarie, recently unveiled a commemorative cornerstone plaque for building which is expected to begin construction in April. It will consist of seven storeys, including two levels of car park and will be located at Gray Street. Construction is expected to take 12 to 13 months.
The building is a venture of Ginamco Caribbean Limited and will be completed with financing from Republic Bank Ltd. It is expected to be the new country headquarters for one of the biggest service companies in the world. Haidar expressed confidence that the construction industry will soon turn around and he is hopeful that other investors follow his lead.
Ginamco Caribbean Ltd is a locally based development company with offices at Cipriani Boulevard, Port-of-Spain.
