West Flori­da Uni­ver­si­ty and T&T's Tal­in Ra­jen­dranath used a strong fi­nal round to earn a top-10 fin­ish, the sec­ond of his ca­reer, to lead his men's team to a fifth-placed fin­ish over­all at the Mat­lock Col­le­giate Clas­sic, on Tues­day.

The San Fer­nan­do na­tive was one stroke away from equalling his ca­reer-best 54-hole to­tal af­ter card­ing a one-over-par 73 to shoot even-par 216, to tie for ninth.

He im­proved one spot over­all from the pre­vi­ous day and was six strokes away from crack­ing the top five.

West Flori­da's fi­nal round 291 dropped it to fifth place be­hind Flori­da Tech, with which it was tied in fourth place af­ter two rounds, by shoot­ing a com­bined 871. The to­tal de­mol­ished the team's pre­vi­ous best 54-hole score of the sea­son by 10 strokes. The "Arg­onauts" best­ed two thirds of the 15-team field that fea­tured eight ranked teams, six of which are among the top 15 in the na­tion.
