West Florida University and T&T's Talin Rajendranath used a strong final round to earn a top-10 finish, the second of his career, to lead his men's team to a fifth-placed finish overall at the Matlock Collegiate Classic, on Tuesday.
The San Fernando native was one stroke away from equalling his career-best 54-hole total after carding a one-over-par 73 to shoot even-par 216, to tie for ninth.
He improved one spot overall from the previous day and was six strokes away from cracking the top five.
West Florida's final round 291 dropped it to fifth place behind Florida Tech, with which it was tied in fourth place after two rounds, by shooting a combined 871. The total demolished the team's previous best 54-hole score of the season by 10 strokes. The "Argonauts" bested two thirds of the 15-team field that featured eight ranked teams, six of which are among the top 15 in the nation.
