A 28 year-old woman from cen­tral Trinidad gave birth to six chil­dren on Mon­day in the first known case of sex­tu­plets be­ing born in the Caribbean.

The three boys and three girls were born at the Mount Hope Ma­ter­ni­ty Hos­pi­tal and are said to be do­ing well, as was the moth­er who re­mained heav­i­ly se­dat­ed post-de­liv­ery.
