Four em­ploy­ees at Petrotrin's Trin­mar op­er­a­tion were tak­en for emer­gency treat­ment on Tues­day night, af­ter a se­cu­ri­ty pa­trol ves­sel crashed in­to an oil well.The in­ci­dent oc­curred around 8.45 pm as the In­land and Off­shore Con­trac­tors Lim­it­ed (IO­CL) boat, named The War­rior, was trans­port­ing se­cu­ri­ty of­fi­cers to a plat­form in the Sol­da­do East Fields.One of the se­cu­ri­ty of­fi­cers re­ceived sev­er­al cuts to his hands while the boat's en­gi­neer sus­tained a frac­tured wrist and a gash to the chin.

The in­jured men were tak­en to Petrotrin's med­ical de­part­ment in Point Fortin where they were ex­am­ined and treat­ed.In a tele­phone in­ter­view yes­ter­day, IO­CL op­er­a­tion man­ag­er Scot Pol­lon­ais said the ac­ci­dent was caused by hu­man er­ror as the boat's cap­tain did not see the oil well in time to ma­noeu­vre around it.
