Zachary Clarke and Nicholas Ca­ma­cho scored hat-tricks as Queen's Park rout­ed Coro­na Fa­ti­ma 11-1 for its sec­ond straight win in the T&T Hock­ey Board Trin­i­ty Men's Di­vi­sion at the Na­tion­al Hock­ey Cen­tre, Tacarigua, on Wednes­day night.

Clarke fired in the open­er for the Parkites in the first minute and added fur­ther items in the fourth and ninth min­utes, while Nicholas Ca­ma­cho got his tre­ble in the sev­enth, 18th and 21st in the lop­sided vic­to­ry.

For the Parkites, Gary Chin (13th) and Robert Wy­att (23rd) al­so scored, be­fore Col­in Young got one back for Fa­ti­ma a minute lat­er to trail 8-1 at the half.

Six min­utes be­fore the in­ter­val, Jordie O'Brien made it 9-1 for the Parkites, while Wy­att (51st), and Mark Ayen (70th) round­ed off the scor­ing for Queen's Park.

With the vic­to­ry, the Parkites, which spanked Po­lice 5-1 in its open­er, moved to the top of the round-robin ta­ble with max­i­mum six points from two match­es, the same as Malvern, which blast­ed Shape 9-0 on Mon­day led by a hat-trick from Teague Mar­cano (57th, 63rd, 70th) and braces from Kyle Cowie (13th, 55th) and An­tho­ny Mar­cano (45th, 49th).

On Tues­day, De­fence Force and Carib picked up their first points of the cam­paign in an en­ter­tain­ing 3-2 draw with Aaron Mc Ken­zie (66th, 67th) scor­ing two late items to earn the "Teteron Boys" a point.

Ed­win Christ­mas had ear­li­er scored twice for Carib in the fourth and 37th minute, while team­mate Ran­dall Ram­sam­my added the oth­er for a 3-1 lead min­utes in­to the sec­ond half. Bri­an Bur­rows net­ted De­fence Force's open­er in the 16th.

Al­so on Wednes­day, Sha­ni­ah De Fre­itas (34th), Gab­by Per­me­ll (41st) and Michelle Le­outaud (60th) were all on tar­get for Shandy Carib Mag­no­lias in a 3-0 shutout of ri­vals Ven­tures.

Mag­no­lias now have six points from its two match­es, lev­el with Notre Dame, which has played a match more, while De­fence Force is next with four points.

On Tues­day, Tamia Roach scored two late first-half items in the 26th and 32nd min­utes for the Dames in its 5-2 whip­ping of Malvern.

Sher­ry-Ann Woodruffe (38th), Nicole White­man (45th) and Vanes­sa Che­witt (54th) al­so found the back of the net for the Dames to can­cel out Tere­sa Leza­ma's 23rd-minute strike and in the 53rd by Rachel Davis.

For­mer na­tion­al duo Ke­cia Ho­sein and Mindy Charles se­cured a first win for Mar­itime Har­vard Check­ers 2-0 on Po­lice on Mon­day.

Tonight, two match­es are sched­uled in the Mixed Vet­er­ans Di­vi­sion from 7 pm, with Carib fac­ing Fa­ti­ma fol­lowed by de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Queen's Park against Paragon at 8.45 pm.

Mean­while, the T&T se­nior men's hock­ey team has em­barked on a jour­ney to dras­ti­cal­ly im­prove their over­all phys­i­cal fit­ness in or­der to com­pete with and sur­pass their in­ter­na­tion­al ri­vals in the hock­ey are­na.

This plan is be­ing made pos­si­ble through Sports Com­pa­ny of Trinidad & To­ba­go's Elite De­vel­op­ment and Per­for­mance Unit which is based at the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um, Mu­cu­rapo.

The se­nior men's hock­ey squad, which re­cent­ly par­tic­i­pat­ed in a sec­ond round FIH World Hock­ey League qual­i­fiers in Brazil, is prepar­ing for the Pan Amer­i­can Cup to be held in Cana­da in Au­gust.
