The Amy Emily Annamunthodo murder trial was adjourned to Monday following lengthy discussions between attorneys and the trial judge. Justice Anthony Carmona presiding in the San Fernando First Assizes did not reveal the nature of the discussions to the jury. He told them what they had expected was not forthcoming when the matter was called on Thursday morning. Carmona said the matter would be adjourned for the State and the defence to determine the best way forward.
Another alternate juror was discharged yesterday, making it three since the matter commenced in September. The juror will be leaving the country on Sunday for a week. Amy's stepfather Marlon King is on trial for allegedly beating the four-year-old to death on May 15, 2006, at his Marabella home.
