The Amy Emi­ly An­na­muntho­do mur­der tri­al was ad­journed to Mon­day fol­low­ing lengthy dis­cus­sions be­tween at­tor­neys and the tri­al judge. Jus­tice An­tho­ny Car­mona pre­sid­ing in the San Fer­nan­do First As­sizes did not re­veal the na­ture of the dis­cus­sions to the ju­ry. He told them what they had ex­pect­ed was not forth­com­ing when the mat­ter was called on Thurs­day morn­ing. Car­mona said the mat­ter would be ad­journed for the State and the de­fence to de­ter­mine the best way for­ward.

An­oth­er al­ter­nate ju­ror was dis­charged yes­ter­day, mak­ing it three since the mat­ter com­menced in Sep­tem­ber. The ju­ror will be leav­ing the coun­try on Sun­day for a week. Amy's step­fa­ther Mar­lon King is on tri­al for al­leged­ly beat­ing the four-year-old to death on May 15, 2006, at his Mara­bel­la home.
