Resh­ma Ra­goonath

A pop­u­lar so­ca artiste is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore a San Fer­nan­do Mag­is­trate to­day for mar­i­jua­na pos­ses­sion. He was among eight peo­ple ar­rest­ed yes­ter­day morn­ing dur­ing an ex­er­cise con­duct­ed by po­lice of­fi­cers fol­low­ing the "Girlz Gone White" fete at Twin Walls, South Trunk Road, La Ro­main. Of­fi­cers said the artiste, who had per­formed at the fete, was ar­rest­ed for pos­ses­sion of less than one gram of mar­i­jua­na dur­ing the ex­er­cise con­duct­ed by of­fi­cers from the San Fer­nan­do Po­lice Sta­tion be­tween 2 am and 7 am.

They al­so ar­rest­ed six peo­ple for fail­ing breathal­yser tests and one per­son was ar­rest­ed for re­sist­ing ar­rest and as­sault­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer. Mean­while 13 peo­ple are ex­pect­ed to ap­pear in the Ch­agua­nas Mag­is­trates Court to­day af­ter be­ing ar­rest­ed on out­stand­ing war­rants. They were ar­rest­ed in En­ter­prise on Sat­ur­day night dur­ing an ex­er­cise con­duct­ed by of­fi­cers from the Ch­agua­nas Po­lice Sta­tion.
