Cen­tral Po­lice are search­ing for two men who robbed a 13-year old stu­dent on Wednes­day. The boy, a stu­dent of Cunu­pia High School, was walk­ing west along Has­sarath Road, Cunu­pia, on Wednes­day af­ter­noon when he was ap­proached by two men, one of them armed with a knife. The armed sus­pect told the teenag­er: "Emp­ty your pock­ets...now!" They robbed the boy of a Blu cell phone then es­caped on foot. Po­lice are al­so in­ves­ti­gat­ing a break-in at a Ch­agua­nas pu­ja store in which thieves made off with $18,800 in cash and goods.

The 50-year old pro­pri­etor told po­lice she se­cured the busi­ness place at Mon­trose on Tues­day evening. When she re­turned on Wednes­day morn­ing she dis­cov­ered it had been bro­ken in­to and 12 cas­es of re­li­gious in­cense val­ued $10,800 and $8,000 in cash were miss­ing. In an­oth­er break-in at the Cara­pichaima home of a 24-year old man, $22,000 in cash and valu­ables were stolen. On Wednes­day the man dis­cov­ered his Wa­ter­loo Road home had been bro­ken in­to. Miss­ing were his Sony Play Sta­tion val­ued at $3,000, a DVD play­er val­ued at $1,000, a Blu Ray play­er val­ued at $3,000, two lap­tops worth $10,000, a Sharp TV worth $5,000 and a quan­ti­ty of jew­el­ry. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
