Res­i­dents of Wood­brook and en­vi­rons are be­ing ad­vised to take ex­tra pre­cau­tion with their pets to­day as an eight-minute fire­works pre­sen­ta­tion will of­fi­cial­ly open the fi­nals of the Dig­i­cel In­ter­na­tion­al Pow­er So­ca Monarch and the Play Whe Groovy So­ca Monarch Com­pe­ti­tions. The event takes place at the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um, Port-of-Spain, be­tween 9 pm and 4 am.

Caribbean Pres­tige Foun­da­tion for the Per­form­ing Arts is­sued a state­ment yes­ter­day ad­vis­ing there al­so will be in­ter­mit­tent fire­works dis­plays. It said: "Res­i­dents with­in the vicin­i­ty are here­by asked to take ex­tra pre­cau­tion with their an­i­mals/pets to avoid any un­to­ward sit­u­a­tion." The or­gan­i­sa­tion as­sured it would be com­pli­ant with the rules and reg­u­la­tions set out by the En­vi­ron­men­tal Man­age­ment Au­thor­i­ty.
