Chief of De­fence Staff, Brigadier Gen­er­al Roland Maun­day, is now the hold­er of a Mas­ter's de­gree in hu­man re­source man­age­ment. He grad­u­at­ed from the Arthur Lok Jack Grad­u­ate School of Busi­ness last Jan­u­ary 21. This re­cent ac­com­plish­ment is just one of sev­er­al aca­d­e­m­ic achieve­ments by Maun­day who al­so holds a diplo­ma in mar­ket­ing and a post grad­u­ate diplo­ma in hu­man re­source man­age­ment. He is al­so a grad­u­ate of the US Army Com­mand and Gen­er­al Staff Col­lege, Fort Leav­en­worth Kansas, USA.

A state­ment yes­ter­day said Maun­day has con­sis­tent­ly pur­sued acad­e­mia since 1989 in ad­di­tion to his the­o­ret­i­cal and tech­ni­cal pro­fes­sion­al mil­i­tary re­quire­ments and has al­ways held a keen in­ter­est in the field of man­ag­ing hu­man re­sources. Dur­ing his 34-year mil­i­tary ca­reer, he has been able to suc­cess­ful­ly im­ple­ment hu­man re­source man­age­ment strate­gies that have sig­nif­i­cant­ly ben­e­fit­ed the men and women of the Trinidad and To­ba­go De­fence Force.

Af­ter al­most three and a half decades of ser­vice to Trinidad and To­ba­go, Maun­day would of­fi­cial­ly hand over com­mand of the De­fence Force to Brigadier Ken­rick Ma­haraj in March.
