After a disappointing opening day for Police FC, the team rebounded in style to record big wins in the Under-14 and Under-16 divisions in the 2012 Oasis Youth Pro League Round one Match Day Two, on Sunday. All three Police youth teams (including its Under-18 team), which comprises of several players from popular youth development coach Dion La Foucade's football academy, were in action against Defence Force, at St Joseph Convent Ground, St Clair, with the younger Under-14s and Under-16s earning a 4-0 and 6-0 win, respectively. La Foucade is heading the two younger divisions, while Alister Ramdoo takes charge of the Under-18 Police outfit. The Under-18 Police boys, however, were not as impressive on the day, as they were defeated 4-1 in the 4 pm fixture. Police's Under-14s got its goals through Antonio De Matas and Nicholas Emmanuel, who both scored early on, before Tereque Healey tucked away a double. The "lawboys" came out even stronger in its Under-16 fixture, with Brent Sam scoring a brace, and four other players, Joshua Salandy, Andrew Macedo, Carlton Alfonso and Brandon Lalchan finding the back of the net.
Police's Under-18 team, however, playing in the third match of the day, was unable to secure a hat-trick of victories and succumbed to a second straight loss in the division. Four goals were scored in the space of 21 minutes for Defence Force, which won 4-1. Charles Hadden (39th minute), Tariq Roachford (43rd), Renard Celestine (47th) and Denzel Woods (70th) were all on target for Defence Force, while Jabari Thomas scored Police's only goal in the 65th minute. The results saw Police take a second, fourth and an eighth place position in the under-14, 16 and 18 divisions after two rounds of play. In other results, W Connection got its second straight win in the Under-14 division to go clear at the top of the standings, with a 3-0 win over Caledonia AIA. St Ann's Rangers was the only other club to remain perfect, and did so in the Under-18 division, following a come-from-behind 3-2 win away to San Juan Jabloteh. All five goals in the match were scored in the first half. Tomorrow, all divisions will be in action with Police hosting North East Stars at St Joseph Convent Ground. W Connection will take on Defence Force at Gilbert Park, while St Ann's Rangers and Caledonia meet at Haig Street Ground. T&TEC and San Juan Jabloteh will contest the other triple header at Teschier Recreation Ground. The Under-14s will open action from 10 am, before Under-16s start at 2 pm. The Under-18 division will kick-off at 4 pm. The host team will host all three divisions on the day.
