League title hopefuls W Connection and Caledonia will keep its eyes on another trophy, the T&T Football Federation (TTFF) FA Trophy competition, when the two teams meet in the second semifinal match of a double header, at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, from 6.15 pm. The match, will follow a showdown between the other Digicel TT Pro League representative Defence Force, and lone National Super League team WASA FC, which will begin at 4 pm. W Connection, which sits second in the Pro League standings will be up against third place Caledonia AIA. Both teams, W Connection and Caledonia won their PRo league matches on Friday night after scoring 4-1 and 2-0 victories respectively against North East Stars and St Ann's Rangers. Connection had the easier of run-ins in the quarterfinal round when it took on Secondary Schools' Football League's Scarborough Secondary, a match which the Pro League team won 5-0. Hashim Arcia scored an emphatic hat-trick, while Jerrel Britto scored a brace for the winners.

The "Savonetta Boys'" last sniff of the title came back in 2009, when the team lost 3-2 in the final to Joe Public. Caledonia, the winner of the competition back in 2008, went up against reigning Super League knockout and league champions Joe Public, a match which they won 2-0 with goals from national players Devorn Jorsling and Ataullah Guerra. WASA, despite having an easier run than those of the other semifinalists, did well to reach to the last four with a 3-1 win over Southern Football Association's OJ Soldado in the last round and a 2-1 victory over NSL team Club Sando round of 16. Its opponents, Defence Force, which won the competition on six occasions, also eased through after the last round, as it also won by a 5-nil margin against NSL's St Francois Nationals.
