Tonight at 7 o'clock, the Ger­man Em­bassy joins with Above­group Ogilvy to host its se­ries Show & Tell. This edi­tion of the se­ries is the Port-of-Spain leg of Ur­ban Heart­beat, an ini­tia­tive of the Goethe In­sti­tut in Mex­i­co City. Ur­ban Heart­beat is an art project that brings artists to­geth­er to cre­ate mu­rals in sev­er­al coun­tries around the Latin Amer­i­can re­gion.

Tonight's free event fea­tures the un­veil­ing of a mur­al by artists in T&T at the east­ern wall of the Grand Stand at the Queen's Park Sa­van­nah, with Ger­man artist Jim Avi­gnon in at­ten­dance. There will al­so be mu­sic pro­vid­ed by Ger­man mu­sic men DJ Neoan­gin and DJ Hol­ger Beier, as well as lo­cal DJs, Above­group's DJ Shyguy and DJ Crix (In­ter­na­tion­al Man of Mys­tery). On Mon­day evening, the Ger­man Em­bassy host­ed Avi­gnon and his mu­si­cal com­pa­tri­ots at the res­i­dence of Deputy Head of Mis­sion, Ull­rich Kinne in Good­wood Park.

The soiree was at­tend­ed by lo­cal artists se­lect­ed to work on the Grand Stand project, as well as rep­re­sen­ta­tives from Above­group and oth­er guests. Kinne wel­comed his guests and salut­ed the artists be­fore ex­tend­ing an in­vi­ta­tion to the Show & Tell event. He said he was pleased to host his fel­low Berlin­ners as part of the project, not­ing that Berlin has emerged as "one of the cap­i­tals of new and up­com­ing art in Eu­rope." He said he al­so hoped the project would help to "en­rich the art scene in T&T."

He thanked the Na­tion­al Car­ni­val Com­mis­sion, Above­group Ogilvy and spon­sors Ben­jamin Moore Paints. Guests min­gled near the pool and en­joyed Ger­man wines and tasty canapes.
