Have you ever been curious about what the different colours worn by members of the Baptist faith meant? Well, according to His Highness Father Mason of the Trinity Baptist Cathedral, in Mt D'or, Champs Fleurs, they are significant to the different orders and offices in the faith. "Just like in the army or the police force or even the medical fraternity, different colours represent what office the person holds, it is the same in the Baptist faith but just in the spiritual realm," Mason explained. A colour can also be in a different shade, which will represent the stage that the person has reached in a specific office, Mason said. He gave a detailed explanation of six colours in particular-brown, red, white, blue, black and khaki.
Brown
Brown is worn by a spiritual worker. "After 'moaning' (moaning ground), or being called to the throne of grace, the moaner would have attained the gift of a healer. This person wears the darkest shade of brown, which implies the moaner travelled into the land of elementary healing. Meaning that person has now been admitted to the medics to become a spiritual healer," disclosed Mason. He added that a person wearing light brown signified a voluntary worker-working along with a spiritual healer, while brown combined with yellow was interpreted as a person reaching a stage of maturity.
Red
Red is worn by someone who has reached his/her fullest potential in the spiritual realm. "Someone in this colour has reached the status of an archbishop, highness or excellency. This means they have gone through all of life's challenges both in the physical and spiritual realm and emerged victorious each time," stated Mason.
White
White in the Baptist faith represents purity. "Revelation chapter 22 says: Who are these? They are those that have gone through great trials and tribulations and have washed their robes in the blood of the lamb," quoted Mason. He said white in the Baptist faith was the colour used when a person received baptism and the colour believers will wear in the presence of God during the hour of judgement.
Blue
Blue also comes with baptism and represents heaven's declaration of the glory of God. Mason revealed it was also the colour that represented a male or female senior nurse in the spiritual realm.
Black
Black is worn by a baptiser or someone who has been commissioned to walk the streets to preach. Mason said in the priesthood it represented those who officially have the authority to perform various ceremonies.
Khaki
Khaki represents the rank of officers in spirit-chief, superintendent and inspector of spirit.
