Valencia police officers said a rapist had broken into the homes of several single women living along the Valencia Old Road within the past month. However, lawmen said they did not have a description of the perpetrator who has been stalking the Valencia community.
In the first incident, a woman was asleep in her house when she awoke around 2 am and found a man lying on top of her. The man told her he had a knife and would kill her if she refused to comply with his demands. The woman sat up and kicked her attacker out of her bed and started to scream, police said.
The man ran away. Within two hours, and less than 100 metres away, the same man went to another house and repeated the act. A report said the victim awoke to find a man on top of her and fought him off. The attacker then stole some cash and ran off, police said.
At the end of last year there were several reports of sexual assault in the community. Senior officers are urging people who live in the area to make sure their homes are secured.
