St An­drews Cor­po­rate Team's Robert Al­leyne and Rasheed Ali gath­ered 48 points to win the St An­drews Golf Club's 16th An­nu­al Cor­po­rate Tour­na­ment in Mo­ka, Mar­aval on Sat­ur­day. The pair, who scored 24 points on both the back and front nines, fin­ished just ahead of First Cit­i­zens Sports Foun­da­tion's Kei­th Clif­ford and Michael Com­mis­siong (47) and Sco­tia Bank T&T Lim­it­ed's Gise­le Marfleet & Chris Galt (45) to se­cure the ti­tle. "There were some fan­tas­tic golfers in this tour­na­ment so it was al­ways go­ing to be very tough," said Al­leyne af­ter col­lect­ing his tro­phy.

"We were dis­ci­plined, but we al­so had a lot of fun out there and I think that was the key." Al­so earn­ing recog­ni­tion was Quan­tum/Busi­ness Boost­ers' Re­nee Ay­oung, whose Hole in One on the fifth hole won her a stand­ing ova­tion dur­ing the prize giv­ing cer­e­mo­ny. Ay­oung and her part­ner Bren­da Clarke placed 13th over­all. The char­i­ta­ble tour­na­ment was con­test­ed among a field of two-mem­ber cor­po­rate teams who raised a to­tal of $25,000 to go to­wards the Tall­man Foun­da­tion's arts pro­gramme, which stages work­shops for young peo­ple in the East Port-of-Spain area. The Foun­da­tion's di­rec­tor Michelle Ay­oung-Chee thanked the rep­re­sen­ta­tives for show­ing a com­mit­ment to a good cause.
