Maha Sabha launches magazine for Hindus

The Sanatan Dhar­ma Ma­ha Sab­ha has launched Muk­dar, a bi-month­ly mag­a­zine. Sec­re­tary gen­er­al Sat Ma­haraj says the com­mu­ni­ca­tions arms of the Ma­ha Sab­ha is ex­pand­ing its op­er­a­tions to tele­vi­sion and print to com­ple­ment its flag­ship sta­tion, Ra­dio Jagri­ti.

Ma­haraj said Hin­dus are now liv­ing in a world dri­ven by mass com­mu­ni­ca­tion. "The tra­di­tion­al Hin­du ex­tend­ed fam­i­ly has now moved from the con­fines of a sin­gle house to mul­ti­ple home in dif­fer­ent parts of the world whilst be­ing linked though the medi­um of mass com­mu­ni­ca­tions," he said.

"The vi­sion of the Ma­ha Sab­ha and its com­mu­ni­ca­tions arm is to pro­vide a net­work that ac­com­mo­dates and fa­cil­i­tates the Hin­du in the new world re­al­i­ty." Ma­haraj said the Ma­ha Sab­ha has re­ceived ap­proval for a tele­vi­sion sta­tion which is ex­pect­ed to start broad­cast­ing by Di­vali. He said Muk­dar would be dis­trib­uted to SDMS schools and tem­ples.
