The University of T&T signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday with CrimsonLogic PTE Ltd of Singapore for information and communication cooperation in tertiary education and related areas. Navneet Boodhai, vice-president, business development and marketing at the UTT, said the objectives of the MoU includes the building of technical capacity and the strengthening of the UTT in the employment of appropriate ICT tools and systems to better execute its mandate. The MoU also provides to promote the effective use of ICT within the Tertiary education sector in T&T and provide a forum for two UTT students to participate annually at internships at CrimsonLogic Global facilities in areas of mutual interest.
Boodhai said the MoU would also assist in the development of case studies for UTT staff and students e-government projects where CrimsonLogic has direct implementation experience for business and entrepreneurial skills. He said the MoU would further identify opportunities for advanced programs of graduate and undergraduate study jointly sponsored by and possibly located at both institutions where applicable and jointly asses the feasibility of the development of a single sign-on portal for UTT staff and students through web based mobile technology applications. Leong Peng Kiong, chief executive officer CrimsonLogic, said his company is an e-government specialist with operations in 20 countries and is involved in e-government projects T&T that relates to the trade industry.
