The Uni­ver­si­ty of T&T signed a mem­o­ran­dum of un­der­stand­ing on Mon­day with Crim­son­Log­ic PTE Ltd of Sin­ga­pore for in­for­ma­tion and com­mu­ni­ca­tion co­op­er­a­tion in ter­tiary ed­u­ca­tion and re­lat­ed ar­eas. Navneet Bood­hai, vice-pres­i­dent, busi­ness de­vel­op­ment and mar­ket­ing at the UTT, said the ob­jec­tives of the MoU in­cludes the build­ing of tech­ni­cal ca­pac­i­ty and the strength­en­ing of the UTT in the em­ploy­ment of ap­pro­pri­ate ICT tools and sys­tems to bet­ter ex­e­cute its man­date. The MoU al­so pro­vides to pro­mote the ef­fec­tive use of ICT with­in the Ter­tiary ed­u­ca­tion sec­tor in T&T and pro­vide a fo­rum for two UTT stu­dents to par­tic­i­pate an­nu­al­ly at in­tern­ships at Crim­son­Log­ic Glob­al fa­cil­i­ties in ar­eas of mu­tu­al in­ter­est.

Bood­hai said the MoU would al­so as­sist in the de­vel­op­ment of case stud­ies for UTT staff and stu­dents e-gov­ern­ment projects where Crim­son­Log­ic has di­rect im­ple­men­ta­tion ex­pe­ri­ence for busi­ness and en­tre­pre­neur­ial skills. He said the MoU would fur­ther iden­ti­fy op­por­tu­ni­ties for ad­vanced pro­grams of grad­u­ate and un­der­grad­u­ate study joint­ly spon­sored by and pos­si­bly lo­cat­ed at both in­sti­tu­tions where ap­plic­a­ble and joint­ly ass­es the fea­si­bil­i­ty of the de­vel­op­ment of a sin­gle sign-on por­tal for UTT staff and stu­dents through web based mo­bile tech­nol­o­gy ap­pli­ca­tions. Leong Peng Kiong, chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Crim­son­Log­ic, said his com­pa­ny is an e-gov­ern­ment spe­cial­ist with op­er­a­tions in 20 coun­tries and is in­volved in e-gov­ern­ment projects T&T that re­lates to the trade in­dus­try.
