The Life Sport Pro­gramme will get un­der­way on Mon­day at thir­ty-three com­mu­ni­ties through­out the coun­try. The pro­gramme, an ini­tia­tive of the Min­is­ter of Sport, Anil Roberts, caters for par­tic­i­pants be­tween the ages of 16 to 25 years us­ing the medi­um of sport, bas­ket­ball, crick­et and foot­ball along with a life skill com­po­nent to as­sist in the fight against crime. At each cen­tre there will be six­ty par­tic­i­pants and the ses­sions will run from 9 am to 5 pm each day, Mon­day to Fri­day, over a two-year pe­ri­od. Qual­i­fied coach­es in the var­i­ous sport­ing dis­ci­plines as well as ex­pe­ri­enced life skill fa­cil­i­ta­tors will be on hand to car­ry out the pro­gramme.
