Re­pub­lic Day cel­e­bra­tions be­gan in a big way last Wednes­day when the man­age­ment of De Nu Pub in Wood­brook host­ed its Pre-Re­pub­lic Day Kaiso­ca Rap­so Con­cert. It was a dou­ble cel­e­bra­tion as it al­so cele­bart­ed the birth­day of Nu Pub di­rec­tor Rod­er­ick Ward. The star stud­ded cast in­clud­ed 3Canal, Denyse Plum­mer, Bro Valenti­no, Lu­ta, De­von Seale, Spran­galang and Cum­mings &?D Wail­ers.

A num­ber of promi­nent cul­tur­al folk were in at­ten­dance in­clud­ing Trin­ba­go Uni­fied Ca­lyp­so Or­gan­i­sa­tion (Tu­co) pres­i­dent Lu­ta­lo "Bro Re­sis­tance"?Masim­ba; Pan Trin­ba­go vice pres­i­dent Bry­on Ser­rette; Mervyn Telfer; Pel­ham God­dard; ca­lyp­so­ni­ans Twig­gy, Bro Su­pe­ri­or, Su­perBlue, Ex­plain­er, Ver­sa­tile, D Di­a­mond and Doppy"?Dop­son; rap­so artiste Kare­ga Man­dela; and, for­eign-based drum­mer Ed­die John­son, son of pop­u­lar lo­cal hus­band and wife duet Ed and An­gela John­son.
