The Na­tion­al Archives col­lab­o­rat­ed with Trin­ba­go Uni­fied Ca­lyp­son­ian Or­gan­i­sa­tion (Tu­co), the Car­ni­val In­sti­tute and the Na­tion­al Li­brary and In­for­ma­tion Sys­tem au­thor­i­ty (Nalis) to host a pan­el dis­cus­sion and an ex­hi­bi­tion to cel­e­brate 100 years of record­ing ca­lyp­so, at the Na­tion­al Archives on St Vin­cent Street, Port-of-Spain, last week.

Pan­el­lists in­clud­ed pro­duc­er Ken­ny Phillips, ca­lyp­son­ian Llewellyn "Short Pants" McIn­tosh, Rawle Gib­bons, and Rudolph Ot­t­ley. The var­i­ous for­mats used in record­ing ca­lyp­soes dat­ing back to 1912, in­clud­ing vinyl records and tapes, nu­mer­ous news­pa­per ar­ti­cles and short bios on var­i­ous ca­lyp­so record­ing artistes were among items on dis­play. Many of the ar­ti­facts were do­nat­ed by An­drew "Lord Su­pe­ri­or"' Mar­cano, Di­ane and Evonne Rhyn­er, Vin­cent and Glo­ria Ack­oon, Sean Ram­doo and Ken­ny Phillips.
