What can possibly bring bikers and kids together? Perhaps the spirit of Christmas. The children of Kiddies Kindergarten will join the Precious Motor Bike Stunt Team led by Anthony "Horsey" Noreiga and Anthony "Madmax" Cox on Christmas Day in bringing cheer to the homeless in the Petit Bourg area, where both the school and team are located.
School director Myrtle Lashley said in an interview the event is one of the school's several on-going initiatives which began five years ago.
"We have been involved in feeding the homeless in the Petit Bourg area for five years now. On Christmas morning we usually start the day off with carols before having breakfast with them for an hour, then we proceed to the Mt Dor and Mt Lambert communities where toys are distributed to children there."
She said the Precious Motor Bike Stunt Team whose bike shop is stationed right next to the kindergarten, became part of the event naturally.
"The children are always interacting with Anthony (Noreiga) and the rest of the team as they are right next door to us, they are often involved in many of our outdoor activities so when we asked them to be a part of this particular event, they were quite willing to join us.
Speaking to Noreiga, he said he and some of his team dress up in Santa Claus suits and carry toys and food to the different communities within Petit Bourg.
"We're not riding the sleigh-we're riding bikes and the kids love it, they look forward to seeing us each year," said Noreiga.
He added the team is actually involved in many more charitable events throughout the year.
"We actually get a lot of calls to make appearances at public and private events, so it's not unusual for us to be involved in this cause."
The kindergarten will also be having a fund-raising concert on tonight at Queen's Hall.
The concert is to aid the purchasing of food, clothes and toys which will all go towards members of the community.
