PNM leader Dr Kei­th Row­ley says he is hap­py to place his po­lit­i­cal for­tunes in the hands of To­bag­o­ni­ans in the Jan­u­ary 21 To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA) elec­tion. "What­ev­er the re­sult, I will take it," Row­ley said at Sun­day night's PNM ral­ly at Buc­coo In­te­grat­ed Com­plex.

He said there were those who said his po­lit­i­cal stew­ard­ship was tied up with the out­come of the THA poll even though it was not a gen­er­al elec­tion. Row­ley was in­tro­duced at the ral­ly as the "next Prime Min­is­ter of T&T." Dur­ing his ad­dress slam­ming the PP ad­min­is­tra­tion, Row­ley com­ment­ed about a prob­lem that he al­leged the Prime Min­is­ter had, say­ing he was speak­ing of "peo­ple of sub­stance."

He said To­bag­o­ni­ans could not let To­ba­go fall to peo­ple who were "all un­der ques­tion." Row­ley said To­bag­o­ni­ans were get­ting the first op­por­tu­ni­ty to cor­rect what was wrong in Trinidad and they should send a mes­sage that they did not want what ex­ist­ed there. He said af­ter the THA poll came lo­cal gov­ern­ment elec­tions.

Urg­ing To­bag­o­ni­ans to wipe out the "yel­low fever," he said TOP was shown to be un­suit­able to run To­ba­go by the PP com­pa­ny the TOP kept. "Don't let the yel­low fever in­fect To­ba­go," he warned. Row­ley said TOP leader Ash­worth Jack could "say what he want," but the PP was all one group.

He said the MSJ left the PP, the COP al­ways com­plained about is­sues and NA­JC's leader's "mouth slipped" and he had spo­ken of prob­lems but the TOP didn't speak out about any is­sues. Row­ley and oth­er PNM speak­ers re­peat­ed­ly urged PN­Mites to come out in their num­bers to vote on Jan­u­ary 21. He said in the 80s the PNM al­most lost the Scar­bor­ough seat by one vote.
