Felicia Walters achieved the unique feat of grabbing seven wickets without conceding a run, as she steered Phoenix into the semifinals of the T&T Women's Cricket Association's knockout competition on Sunday. Walters was unplayable from the very first ball, wreaking havoc with the Hibiscus batswomen who were only able to total 43 in 18.2 overs on the Couva East Secondary ground. In reply, Phoenix took just six overs to get past the small score with Crystal Hanslal and Tamika Nanan finishing undefeated on 19 and 12 respectively. Advancing to the last four along with Phoenix were newly-crowned league champion, Technocrats, Spice Girls and Cricket Lovers.
Technocrats whipped San Rafael by four wickets in a low-scoring affair in Arima. San Rafael was skittled out 41 in 12 overs with Jovanka Simon (5-13) and Trisha Marquis (3-12) being the chief destroyers. Technocrats found itself struggling in the early part of its innings before Stacy Ann King (22 not out) and Whitney Cudjoe (13 not out) took the champion past the San Rafael total, losing six wickets in the process. Spice Girls made light work of Maaad Rangers, winning by 58 runs. Batting first, Spice Girls rattled up 98 in 24.2 overs and bowled out Rangers for 40 in 19 overs. Cricket Lovers booked its place in the "semis" at El Dorado West School by getting past Moosai Ladies by six wickets. Semifinal match ups are Technocrats vs Sprice Girls and Phoenix vs Cricket Lovers.
