Shel­don Pope smashed the last ball of the match for six to give La For­tune Sports Club a thrilling win over Mo­hess Road in the RS Sports 20/20 fi­nal which was played last week­end.La For­tune need­ed six runs to win, and Pope, bat­ting at num­ber eight, lift­ed Rod­ney Jaglal's fi­nal de­liv­ery of the match over the bound­ary to send sup­port­ers of his team in­to a fren­zy.

Bat­ting first, Mo­hess Road Sports Club made a com­pet­i­tive 150/5 in their 20 overs. Jaglal top­scored with an un­beat­en 55 while Kr­ishen­dath Ramdeen made 29. Wil­fred De­bisette (3/37) was La For­tune's best bowler.

In their turn, La For­tune Sports Club seemed out of it at 155-7 and on­ly one ball re­main­ing. But Pope did the nec­es­sary to give his team the $12,000 first prize. Javed Mo­hammed top­scored with 49 while Dan­ny Jadoo­nanan 3/27 was his team's best bowler. Mo­hess Road run­ners up col­lect­ed the run­ners up prize of $5,000.
