Suspended parliamentary representative for San Fernando East Patrick Manning formed a sea of red with his supporters as they completed the final leg of his seven-day walk for "justice and democracy."The former prime minister with his troops, accompanied by drummers and a music truck, marched for 3.2 miles from Tarouba Link Road.Several participants armed themselves with placards listing what they regarded as injustices of the People's Partnership Government.Taking charge before the start at the march around 5.20 pm, Manning told supporters to be "disciplined...no loud talking or shouting." Manning and his wife, former education minister Hazel Manning, led the march which was followed by a long line of cars transporting supporters. They were escorted by police officers. Also joining the march were Cepep workers, former PNM minister Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, Ralph Maraj, Alica Hospedales, Laurel Lezama and former councillors.Manning's walk began last Wednesday from the Red House in protest of his suspension. The Privileges Committee found him in contempt for allegations he made about Persad-Bissessar's private residence in Phillipine, south Trinidad.Manning was in Cuba when the Parliament, on May 17, voted 25 to nine in favour of his immediate suspension.
